COMERICA BANK ANNOUNCES THE FIRST ANNUAL
VOTE FOR THE FLOAT CONTEST Contest pairs creativity with float designs for “American Idol” style competition with a $20,000 top prize ![]() A judging committee, made up of Ralph Babb (CEO, Comerica Bank), Laura V. Estrada (Chairman of the Board, Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau), Heather Hayes (Anchor, FOX 4 Evening News), Tom Leppert (Mayor, City of Dallas), Stephen Ross (Curator of Education, Nasher Sculpture Center) and Clyde Watts (Owner, Lone Star Floats) determined the Top 10 float designs, out of 56 entries, that will be built and featured in the 2009 Comerica Bank New Year’s Parade lineup. The Top 10 floats will be judged “American Idol style” by parade attendees and viewers who send text messages and make phone calls to dedicated phone lines provided by AT&T during the parade and through the rebroadcast of the parade on January 2, 2009 just before the Cotton Bowl game begins. Voters can also go to www.comericabankparade.com to vote for their favorite floats during the same time period. All voting will conclude at 11:59 p.m. on January 2, 2009. “The Vote for the Float design contest is a wonderful opportunity for Comerica Bank to work with Dallas ISD and provide students with a stage on which they can showcase their creativity and artistic talents and in the end, reward the schools, teachers and students who participated,” said Ralph Babb, Chairman and CEO Comerica Bank. ![]() (In alphabetical order by school name):
