BANDS, DANCE TEAMS SELECTED FOR 2008-2009 NATIONAL
AT&T COTTON BOWL MUSIC FESTIVAL AND PAGEANTRY Activities Include Concert Band, Jazz Band and Field Show Competitions, Comerica Bank New Year’s Parade, Pre-Game and Halftime Shows at Jan. 2 Football Game ![]() Scheduled activities include concert band, jazz band and field show competitions, the televised Comerica Bank New Year’s Parade through downtown Dallas and nationally televised pre-game and halftime pageantry performances during the 73rd AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic. The Jan. 2 football game between Ole Miss and Texas Tech will be broadcast at 1 p.m. CST, on FOX-TV. “We congratulate the high school students performing in this year’s National AT&T Cotton Bowl Music Festival and pageantry,” said Adrian Quintanilla, AT&T general manager of North Texas. “The students’ arrival will bring undoubted excitement, and we welcome them to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.” The National Events AT&T Cotton Bowl Music Festival is one of several events developed by AT&T and the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association to extend the legacy of the Cotton Bowl Classic to future generations. Other activities include the AT&T Cotton Bowl Hall of Fame and the AT&T Cotton Bowl Art Contest. The Comerica Bank New Year’s Parade on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009, at 2:30 p.m., will “Celebrate Community!” while welcoming thousands of visitors for the annual AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic. ![]() “There’s no better way to ring in 2009 than with a parade through the streets of Downtown Dallas,” said Ralph Babb, chairman & CEO, Comerica Incorporated. “The Comerica Bank New Year’s Parade will be a great way for families to celebrate the New Year while welcoming thousands of visitors in town for the annual AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic.” The Ole Miss Rebel Band and the Texas Tech Goin’ Band from Raiderland will participate in the 1.5-mile parade, which benefits the Scovell Scholarship Foundation.
