NEW YEAR’S PARADE ACTIVITIES AND ENTRIES
TO SALUTE THE U.S. ARMED FORCES


U.S. Navy Flyover, Military Bands and Equestrians
Planned for Jan. 1, 2009
DALLAS, Dec. 26, 2008 — Comerica Bank today announced several scheduled activities and entries to salute the U.S. Armed Forces at the Comerica Bank New Year’s Parade on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009, in downtown Dallas.

A U.S. Navy F-5N Tiger II fly-by performed by Fighter Squadron VFC-111 Sun Downers based at Naval Air Station Key West, Florida, will serve as the official start of the parade at approximately 2:35 p.m. over Woodall Rodgers Freeway (weather permitting). Scheduled entries showcasing military personnel include:
  • U.S. Marine Corps Color Guard, Eighth Marine Corps District,
    Fort Worth
  • Marine Forces Reserve Band, New Orleans
  • U.S. Army Texas National Guard 36th Infantry Division Band, Austin
  • U.S. Army 1st Cavalry Division Horse Detachment, Fort Hood, Texas

In addition, members of the Circle Ten Council of the Boy Scouts of America will carry a 30’ by 50’ U.S. flag as part of a New Year’s tribute to those serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.
